Classical Tantra arose 1500 years ago in a very challenging time. The Gupta empire in India had just broken up and life became very uncertain, people didn't know what their future held. 

Classiacal Tantra emerged initially as a technology of empowerment to empower people to experience a source of strength, stability, love and joy within not dependant upon any external circumstance. It arose precisely at this time of uncertainty because people needed a resource that taught them how to connect to their own deeper resources internally. 

That is why Tantra is equally relevant for our time. We face times of great uncertainty as well. The technology of empowerment that Classical Tantra offers us is just as effective today for the environmental issues arising and how we can connect deeper to self though the unknown.
